The building is composed of a collective housing and a clinic on the ground floor.
The site was located on the border of two different districts. On the street side is a commercial district lined with three storey’s buildings and a lot of cars pass. Meanwhile, the opposite side belongs to a residential district that is quiet and is occupied with low story’s residences and housings.

The clinic and housing mutually correspond to each district.

The building also corresponds to each district and has two different facade. The street side facade on that the clinic faces has a tall facade suitable to the townscape of the street and is designed as the building oneself becomes a sign. On the residential district side, the housing sets back with a staircase form as the residential area on a slope facing to the building.

The interior of the clinic has windows on the upper side to avoid a noise and protect a patient’s privacy. The sunlight through the windows disposed at random like filtering through trees realizes a comfort and make relax patients.

Since the housing sets back with staircase form, the sunlight is easy to enter in the inside and the height of a balcony handreil is higher than a usual one to enable to open the window without minding the gazes of others, and the height of the window is 4.0m to get the sunlight more and to see the sky.
